UPDATE
We would like to thank all of our sponsors and bidders in the Haiti Disaster Relief Benefit Auction. The evening's events and auction raised $35,130 for Double Harvest Medical/Surgical Center in Haiti.
The night's activities will include
- Appetizers and refreshments served by Cox Brothers, Flint Hills Beverage, Pepsi and Coco Bolos
- Autograph signing by K-State football coach Bill Snyder, K-State basketball coach Frank Martin and K-State women's basketball coach Deb Patterson
- The MC will be Wyatt Thompson
- Live music by Muzizi
- Viewing of the auction items from 6:00 to 6:45
The live auction will begin at 6:45 with Aaron McKee from Purple Wave as your auctioneer.
One hundred percent of the proceeds and the buyer's premium raised from this auction will go to Double Harvest. The money raised will help to replenish supplies and medications, as well as finance shipping containers needed to get the supplies and donations to Haiti.
Double Harvest
Double Harvest, is a non-profit organization established in 1981 outside of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Double Harvest has a medical center, schooling, water wells, on-site farming and other skill training for the Haitian people. The Manhattan Surgical Team frequently travels to Haiti and carries out medical-surgical missions. Double Harvest operating rooms have changed the lives of many hundreds of Haitian people.
Double Harvest receives support from local hospitals such as Mercy Regional Health Center and Manhattan Surgical Hospital, pharmaceutical companies and businesses. Double Harvest fortunately escaped most damage from the earthquake but they have been depleted of their medical supplies. Donate items to ship
Money raised from this auction will be used to ship medical supplies and various items to Double Harvest in Haiti. The types of items that are needed include sleeping bags, plastic table cloths (to make a shelter), flat sheets, towels crutches matches, candles, flashlights and batteries, lamps and lamp oil, new wash cloths, packages of new underwear (any size), Packages of t-shirts any size, jars of peanut butter (plastic jar), dried beans, rice, flour pasta, ketchup (plastic jar), soap shampoo, flip flops, toothpaste, toothbrushes, plastic bowls, rope, shovels, picks, hack saw, wire cutters and brooms.

All terms, conditions, explanations and information are intended to be supplemental and complimentary to each other. They are incorporated by reference into this page, and collectively they govern this auction. In the event of a conflict or inconsistency among terms, conditions, explanations or information in the Buy section, the individual listing pages for assets and/or this page, the individual listing pages shall control this page and the Buy section, and this page shall control the Buy section. By registering to bid live and/or on the Internet, you agree to abide by all terms and conditions and you acknowledge receipt of all explanations and information made available by Purple Wave.
Internet bidding
Internet bidding closes one hour before the auction begins. Internet listing will be complete by 12 p.m. CST on Wednesday, January 27. Full payment for Internet purchases must be paid for and picked up no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, January 29.
Inspection prior to bidding
All items, unless stated otherwise, are sold "as is, where is" . Bidders are responsible for assessing item condition prior to placing a bid. We strongly recommend personal inspection of items prior to bidding. Purchaser buys entirely on his own examination. It is the responsibility of the buyer to conduct any inspection and examination necessary to satisfy him of all material facts before placing a bid.
All sales are final. No refunds given. Credit card transactions may not be reversed.
Qualifying bids and bidders
Bids over the amount of $10,000.00 are subject to Purple Wave's qualification process. Verification may include, but is not limited to, providing a bank letter of guarantee, credit references or credit card pre-authorization. Purple Wave may take any or all of these measures at any point during the auction. Purple Wave reserves the right to strike any Internet bid if the bidder refuses or fails to timely cooperate with Purple Wave's efforts to verify the bidder's qualification to bid. By registering to bid in this auction, you authorize all credit references, banks and credit reporting agencies to provide complete information about your credit to Purple Wave. Removal timeline
Unless other removal arrangements are made with the removal contact within 48 hours from the end of the auction, fees for failing to timely remove items won may be assessed under the auction terms and conditions. All items must be removed by Wednesday, February 10. Items not removed by Wednesday, February 10 will be subject to penalty up to and included additional storage and administration fees and item forfeiture.
Sale order
Items in this auction are sorted by bid amount until 24 hours prior to the auction. The items will be sorted in their final sale order 24 hours prior to the auction.
Payment information
Payments must be made by 4 p.m. CST on the second business day following the auction. Purple Wave reserves the right to charge the credit card on file the total purchase price, $30.00 late payment fee, plus a 3% processing fee for invoices not paid within (7) business days after auction. Business hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m CST. Cash and wire transfers (wire instructions) in any amount will be accepted. Checks up to $10,000.00 will be accepted without a bank guaranty letter. Checks of $10,000.00 or greater will be accepted only with a bank guaranty letter (letter requirements) or with prior approval from Purple Wave's credit department. MasterCard or Visa will be accepted only for charges up to $2,000.00, and only after authorization (via website or email) or in-person signatures are obtained from the cardholder. Purple Wave reserves the right to hold assets and/or certificates of title until funds availability is confirmed.
Item removal requirement
Merchandise must be removed in accordance with the removal terms listed for each item location above. A paid receipt must be presented to remove items from the premises. Buyers who incur storage fees as a result of late pickup must present a paid receipt for the total invoice price and all storage fees before removing items from the premises. Item's not removed within fourteen (14) days after the auction, will be considered abandoned property, with all of the buyer's rights and interests in the property extinguished. Purple Wave and/or the seller reserve the right to pursue all legal remedies.
Default Charges
If a auction transaction is defaulted on for any reason, Purple Wave reserves the right to charge the winning bidder a default fee. The default fee is 15% of the hammer price (with a minimum of $100.00). Purple Wave and/or the seller reserve the right to pursue all legal remedies. If unable to satisfy the terms of auction, do not bid.
Shipping and Transportation
We ship by FedEx only. For buyers interested in merchandise too heavy or too large for FedEx, or for buyers located outside the continental US, special contingencies must be arranged with us before placing bids. Please call 785.537.5057 or email shipping@purplewave.com with all shipping inquiries and requests. A $15.00 per invoice minimum handling fee will be charged in addition to the FedEx charges.
