Purple Wave Auction Inc. proudly accepted the 2007 Business Excellence Award in the service category at the Kansas Department of Commerce’s annual Kansas Business Appreciation Month North Central Regional Awards ceremony on Thursday, June 7. The company was nominated by Pottawatomie County Economic Development for its contributions to its community and state economy.

According to a June 7 press release by the Kansas Department of Commerce, 270 companies were nominated for Business Appreciation Month Awards this year. “A panel of judges from the business community selected one Business Excellence Award winner and recognized Business Achievement and Merit winners in each category for all seven regions of the state,” the release stated.

The news of the Business Excellence Award was preceded in the week by the announcement that Purple Wave has taken top honors in two categories of the National Auctioneers Association’s 2007 Marketing Competition. The company is the winner of the “Online Catalogs, Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment” and “Internet, Online-only Auction” categories of the competition. Both categories are new to the marketing contest.

The company will be recognized and presented with a plaque at the Gavel Award and NAA Marketing Competition Recipient’s Luncheon on Thursday, July 19, at the 58th International Auctioneers Conference and Show in San Diego, California.
